Unlike black and white photography, which uses a gray scale, sepia toned photos appear on a brown scale. Originally made from the Sepia cuttlefish, sepia pigment was used to treat printed photos to make them more durable. Consequently, many of the old photographs around today, such as portraits from the 1700s, appear in brown scales due to the sepia toning that has preserved them for so long.  We love sepia toning that is why we decided to include the conversion in all packages. It is not basic filtered sepia which you can get from almost any camera- It is edited and detailed conversion which takes a lot of time to make- If you are interested in our colour conversions the best way is to visit us in our studio and see the real beauty of the colours on  photographic paper in our albums.
